8th: At Titchmarsh Reserve a Clouded Yellow was seen at the south end.

7th: At Sywell Country Park 5 Clouded Yellow including a third mating pair.

5th: At Sywell Country Park another pair of Clouded Yellow were observed mating.

1st: At Sywell Country Park an organised count produced an impressive total of 24 Clouded Yellow (this is the 2nd highest site total we have had in the county on record) including 3 helice females. Other butterflies present were 1 Small White and c20 Small Copper.

September

29th: At Sywell Country Park 15-20 Clouded Yellows were recorded with a pair photographed mating. Clouded Yellows breeding in the county is quite a rare event and observing mating is a rare sight indeed, to make this spectacle even more special to the observer when they broke off the female turned out to be a form helice.

26th: Good numbers of Clouded Yellow have been recorded recently which is suggesting the species has successfully bred at a number of sites in Northants this year. Please keep an eye out for the species and let us know where you are seeing them so we can track their movements around the county.

25th: At Sywell Country Park an impressive 12 Clouded Yellow were recorded with most of them in the meadows to the north and north east of the site, and an equally impressive 31 Small Copper.
Other butterflies seen were 1 Large White, 4 Small White, 1 Brimstone, 2 Common Blue, 1 Holly Blue, 4 Comma, 1 Red Admiral and 1 Speckled Wood.

24th: At Brackmills 1 Clouded Yellow and 1 Small Heath.
On Borough Hill 2 Small White, 8 Small Copper, 1 Painted Lady, 1 Red Admiral, 1 Small Tortoiseshell, 1 Peacock and 3 Speckled Wood.

On two pieces of waste ground on Swan Valley Industrial Estate near Northampton an impressive 34 Small Copper were recorded along with 8 Brown Argus, 21 Common Blue and 1 Large White.

August

31st: At Borough Hill at least 8 Small Heath were noted.

21st: The 2nd brood Grizzled Skipper still present at Twywell Hills and Dales in the set aside field just north of the reserve (roughly SP942775)

17th: A 2nd brood Grizzled Skipper was discovered in the set aside field north of Twywell Hills and Dales (roughly SP942775). This is a very rare occurrence in Northamptonshire with only 2 other examples seen in the 40 years of recording in the county and this one being by far the latest seen. Other species present at the site were 55 Common Blue, 6 Brown Argus, 6 Large White, 6 Small White, 13 Green-veined White, 9 Meadow Brown and 50 Speckled Wood.
